PROJECTS Riverscape, Royal Docks

I-MEX (M&E) Ltd were appointed by Ballymore Ltd, to deliver MEP Solutions for Deanston Wharf. Located in Silvertown within the Royal Docks. It is also known as Riverscape. The project involved the design, supply, and installation of the full mechanical, electrical, and public health services.

Plots 1 & 2  were completed in October 2023, this landmark riverfront development provides high-quality residential accommodation. It also boast panoramic views towards Canary Wharf, the City of London, and beyond. The scheme comprises a mix of private, shared ownership, and rental units, forming part of a wider vision to transform the Royal Docks into a vibrant and sustainable waterside community.

Scope of works

Working in close collaboration with Ballymore and the wider project team, I-MEX delivered a comprehensive MEP Solutions for Deanston Wharf.

Our scope included:

  • Full design, supply, and installation of mechanical, electrical, and public health services
  • Construction and fit-out of basement plant rooms
  • Installation of core M&E infrastructure across Plots 1 and 2
  • Full mechanical and electrical fit-out of all residential units
  • Services delivery across private, shared ownership, and rental tenures

A key feature of the project was the utilisation of I-MEX’s in-house prefabrication capabilities (I-FAB), which enhanced efficiency, quality control, and programme certainty.

 

Design and Consultation

The project required detailed coordination with IN2 Engineering Design Partnership (M&E Consultant) and Reddy Architecture to ensure seamless integration of building services within a high-specification residential environment.

Particular focus was placed on the design and installation of basement plant rooms and associated infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, accessibility, and maintainability. The use of prefabrication techniques played a critical role in reducing on-site installation time while maintaining high standards of workmanship.

As part of the wider Riverscape development, the scheme contributes to a high-quality public realm within the Royal Docks, enhancing connectivity and creating an attractive riverside environment for residents and visitors.

The development’s prime waterfront location and integrated design approach help to establish a strong sense of place, supporting the ongoing regeneration of the surrounding area.

Outcome

The project was successfully completed in October 2023, delivering a premium residential development that meets modern standards for design, comfort, and efficiency.

Through a combination of technical expertise, prefabrication innovation, and close project collaboration, I-MEX delivered a high-quality M&E solution aligned with the client’s vision and programme requirements.
