I-MEX (M&E) Ltd was appointed to deliver the full mechanical, electrical, and public health services installation for Devons Road Phase 4, a mixed-tenure residential development located in Bow.
Completed in August 2020, the scheme comprised 130 new-build residential units arranged across four principal blocks. The development delivered a blend of 124 private residences and 6 shared ownership homes, alongside high-quality commercial office space constructed to CAT A standards and finished in a modern, contemporary style.
The project formed part of a wider regeneration initiative, contributing to the continued transformation of the local area through the delivery of sustainable, energy-efficient housing and commercial facilities.

Working in partnership with the main contractor and wider design team, I-MEX provided a comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and public health installation across the entire development.
Our scope included:
Particular emphasis was placed on delivering an efficient and reliable energy strategy through the expansion of the site-wide district heating system.


The project required close coordination with Pinnacle ESP (M&E Consultant) and KSS Group (Architect) to ensure that all building services were fully integrated within the architectural design and met the performance and sustainability objectives of the scheme.
A key aspect of the design was the successful integration of the extended district heating system, including CHP plant and distribution networks, within the constraints of a live and developing site. Careful planning and coordination ensured seamless connectivity with existing infrastructure while maintaining programme efficiency and compliance with all relevant standards.

In addition to the core building services, the development included associated external and infrastructure works to support both the residential and commercial elements of the scheme.
The inclusion of commercial office space at ground level contributed to the creation of an active streetscape, enhancing the overall usability and appeal of the development within the local community.
The project was successfully completed in August 2020, delivering a high-quality residential and mixed-use development that met the client’s expectations in terms of performance, sustainability, and programme delivery.
